First of all, prioritize your main career. Even if you plan to go full-time with your side gig [eventually], you are likely depending on your main career to pay the bills and put food on the table [for] now.
Consider your work hours - then look closer at when you go to sleep and wake up. If you’re getting enough sleep and have a few hours extra to spare, take advantage of this. Getting up just an hour earlier would allow you to manage and operate your side gig more. And it won’t necessarily cut into your family time.
Be Flexible, Consistent, And Realistic
Achieving that balance between a professional job and side gigs often requires making intentional trade-offs. It's about identifying where your time goes and finding opportunities to shift some of it towards your side gig.
Swap those leisure hours watching a movie or scrolling through social media for productive time that moves your side gig forward. Flexibility is key. You can capitalize on early mornings or late nights to make progress on your side gig.
Consistency also matters – dedicating even a couple of hours a few nights a week can add up significantly over time.
However, being realistic is crucial too. Not everyone can commit several hours each night, and that's okay. It's about finding a rhythm that works for you and aligns with your energy levels and other commitments. Balancing effectively also means knowing your limits and avoiding burnout.
Keep A Good State Of Mind
Set aside at least 20 [to 60] minutes daily for self-care and pleasure: massage, hammam, sports, manicure, singing, drawing. Remember that your priority is fulfillment and well-being.
When you're filled and in a good state of mind, everything is going [to go] well at home, at work, and on the side gigs.
